The Pox Doc
It was good fortune rather than design that I was able to surround myself with some of my favourite women on this film. Lynda Bryans – who’d I’d first met years earlier in UTV – was the narrator. Christine Barker, who films a lot for me these days, was sound recordist. My associate producer was the full-of-fun Veronica Cunningham, and the enigmatic Rebekah Poole provided research. Deirdre Devlin was the BBC’s executive producer, and the film was edited by the wonderful Sharon Darby, wife of my dear friend Greg Darby, founder of Yellow Moon Post Production in Holywood, Co. Down, which later handled series like Line of Duty and Game of Thrones.
